The 10th Annual Shrimp CookOff is slated to be held at Ocean Boulevard Bistro & Martini Bar in Kitty Hawk, NC – from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm on Sunday November 3rd. This casual, fun competition has been a huge success since 2010, and we look forward to an excellent tenth annual event. We will have 8-10 competing chefs from around the Outer Banks, cooking fresh, local shrimp in their favorite style of preparation. A live MC will be keeping up with announcements and door prizes and a silent auction will also be held on the second floor of Ocean Boulevard, with a People’s Choice Ballot. The bar will be open serving Beer & Wine specials along with your favorite beverage. The cost per person is $25 at the door, and tickets can be bought in advance at Ocean Boulevard or Outer Banks Veterinary Hospital as well as online this fall. With a little over a month to go, the advance tickets are on sale this week! Tickets will be available for purchase at Ocean Boulevard and Outer Banks Veterinary Hospital in Kitty Hawk for $25 each starting Tuesday October 1st. Tickets are now also available online! Tickets are also on sale the day of the event but get your tickets early as this event does sell out! And silent auction items are starting to come in!

We’ve just received word that Sandtrap Tavern has just joined the competition! That makes 6 delicious shrimp dishes so far! Silent auction items are coming in, things are coming together to make this the best cookoff yet!

We have confirmation that Chef Johanna from Johanna’s in Wanchese will be returning this year to prepare a dish for this year’s cookoff as well as Chef Sam from Red Drum Taphouse! Chefs Jen and Jeff Schwartzenberg from Outer Banks Frozen Yogurt will be joining the competition this year! Christian Benedi will also be back as our MC (he made the event a lot of fun last year)! That makes three great Shrimp dishes so far, with more to come!
